Terms & conditions

We look forward to welcoming you to the Crest. We have been operating for more than fifteen years .We aim to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible and are continually striving to improve each property and facilities.

Please find below some information with regard to the rental agreement of our properties. We ask that you do not hesitate to contact us should you need any clarification or any further details.

Availability of properties

For week long bookings our breaks begin on a Friday.

For shorter breaks we accept bookings for Friday to Monday (3 nights) and Monday to Friday (4 nights).

We are happy to consider requests for alternative numbers of nights subject to availability.

Booking procedure

Unless otherwise agreed at the time of your booking and confirmed in writing by us on your booking confirmation, our properties are let on the following terms and conditions.

  1. Provisional bookings must be confirmed within 7 days of booking by payment of a deposit of no less than 25% of the total booking value.
  2. The balance of your booking must be received at least 6 weeks prior to your holiday start date.
  3. In the case of bookings made within less than 6 weeks of your holiday start date, the full booking cost is due within 7 days of the booking. (Failure to pay on time may result in cancellation of your holiday. We will try and contact you if we have not heard from you within the above time frame but it is your responsibility to ensure that you contact us and pay the balance on time.)
  4. Cancellations:
    1. Notification of Cancellation more than 6 weeks prior to holiday start date: If we are notified of cancellation of your booking more than 6 weeks prior to the original start date, and if we are able to re-sell the period that you have booked we will refund in full your deposit. If we are unable to re-sell the period then we will retain the deposit.
    2. Notification of Cancellation less than 6 weeks prior to the holiday start date: If notice of the cancellation is received less than 6 weeks prior to the original start date, and we are unable to re-sell the property for the same period, the rental will be payable by you in full. If we are able to re-let the property then we will refund in full, any monies paid.
    3. We would strongly advise you to consider taking out a Holiday Cancellation and Accidental Damage Insurance Policy.

Accepted payment methods

  1. We accept bank transfer payments.
  2. Payment may also be made with a sterling cheque drawn on a UK bank.

Access to properties

  1. Directions and arrival details at your holiday property will be provided following receipt of full payment.
  2. We ask that guests contact us no less than 3 days prior to the start of their holiday to finalise arrival details.
  3. All cottages will be available from 4pm on day of arrival and we ask that the properties are vacated by 10am on day of departure.

Number of guests at each property

  1. For Summerhill Crest the maximum is 6 adults. Where there is full adult occupancy we are happy to discuss child additions by special request.
  2. It is in visitors’ own interests to respect these limits as failure to do so may have safety and insurance cover implications. The owners reserve the right to ask guests found to break their contract in respect of numbers of people staying, to vacate the premises immediately.

Use of Hot Tub

Applicable to all cottages:

  1. We will send a ‘pre arrival hot tub agreement’ in advance of your start date. We will outline conditions for use of the hot tub within that document and request your agreement to those conditions in order that the tub is made ready for your arrival.
  2. These conditions will comprise of details of your responsibility with regards to careful use of the equipment and personal safety.
  3. We will supply you with further instructions for use of the hot tub on arrival. It is essential that these are complied with in full. There are important considerations when using the hot tub and it is your responsibility to ensure that the use of the hot tub would not be detrimental to your health.
  4. If in doubt please consult your own doctor before your arrival.
  5. You may not use the hot tub if suffering from any infectious condition or if under the influence of any drugs including alcohol.
  6. We do not provide any safety surveillance of the hot tub. It is the responsibility of the person in whose name the holiday is booked to ensure that those using the hot tub do so safely and without causing damage to the equipment.
  7. If you have non-resident visitors during you stay at the holiday property, they may not use the hot tub.

General rental conditions

  1. All properties are NON SMOKING, WITHOUT EXCEPTION.
  2. No pets are allowed in any of the properties.
  3. We expect that the property will be left in the condition in which you found it. Although we are unlikely to charge for minor breakages, which, may occur during your stay, we will seek compensation from you for any damage which may be more serious in nature. We do, therefore, recommend that you have insurance against accidental damage.
  4. The cottage prices are fully inclusive of energy costs. We respectfully request that you are mindful of conserving energy where possible (lowering temperature, closing windows, turning off lights etc when not resident in the cottage).
  5. In cottages with log burners, a complimentary basket of firewood is provided along with complimentary kindling and firelighters. Subsequent nets of logs are available from your personal log store at a charge of £4 / net.
  6. Please note: burning of driftwood/woodland debris/ non-seasoned wood is not permitted as it can damage the burner flue and result in the emission of poisonous fumes.
